About the Service

Covid-19 Update: Pools Closed - Training Cancelled until further notice All swimmers interested in joining the club must register and go through an assessment. To arrange an assessment please contact our Membership Secretary, Elaine Cannon by e-mailing membership@inverclydeasc.co.uk. When you make contact about an assessment you need to provide the following information: Swimmers Name, Age, DOB, Mobile No., Contact Phone No. and Other Information e.g. the level the swimmers is currently at in swimming lessons. The assessment itself lasts about 30-45 minutes and will consist of the swimmer spending time in the 20 metre pool trying out all strokes and using a kickboard. The assessment is carried out by the Head Coach or another Coach at the Port Glasgow swimming pool. The squad the swimmer will join will depend on their skill level and endurance however, most swimmers making a transition from swimming lessons tend to be placed in Club Start Squad. The swimmer can train up to 2 times per week and it gives parents/guardians and swimmers an opportunity to see what the club is like and what is expected of them. In addition, it provides the coaches with a period of time to assess the swimmers progression.
