About the Service

I FiT is a charity of local Inverclyde people determined to tackle the significant sense of loss, isolation and loneliness experienced by people in our community who are caught in a revolving door of repeated criminalisation and punishment. They often lose their freedom, friends and family members through combined factors of poverty and offending behaviour leading to a sense of isolation not only in prison, but in the weeks and years following liberation. We are carrying on the previous work of Faith in Throughcare to support them as they identify and shape opportunities to gradually build their resilience and reach their full potential. For the past seven years, Faith in Throughcare have been working in Inverclyde utilising volunteers and mobilising the resources of local partner organisations. This joint working approach has always had a strong positive impact in our community and the amazing people that we support. We conducted as review of our work last year; asking local people, partners, participants and volunteers how we can shape our work for the future and from the finding of this review we now feel ready and able to take this work forward ourselves.
