Your Voice Tea Dances originated from an idea by Nell McFadden MBE five years ago. Due to their high success, Your Voice have continued to facilitate the event with four dances being held every year, between Greenock and Port Glasgow town halls. Approximately two hundred people from the Inverclyde area, including care homes & sheltered housing attend. Individuals enjoy the opportunities to both socialise and benefit from physical activity, helping maintain healthier lifestyles. People who exercise tend to have improved immune and digestive functioning, better blood pressure and bone density, and a lower risk of Alzheimer's disease, diabetes, obesity, heart disease, osteoporosis, and certain cancers. Enhances mobility, flexibility, and balance. Tea, coffee, sandwiches, cake and juice are available; music is provided by local DJ Jim McIntyre.
